Pistons

I have two 115 hp power heads. both are same year, one has two rings on each piston and the other has three rings per piston. anyone know the difference or which one came out first?.<br />Thanks

Most of them were three ring. 2 ring came later - unless you have aftermarket pistons in one.<br /><br />If you have to mix and patch pistons, just make sure the eyebrow height is the same, and you can use 2 rings on all of them if you wish.<br /><br />-W
