Re: Pitch/Prop size?

Basically you need a tach to know what to get.
The Max RPM is 5500 on that motor. The closer you are without going over is what you want.

Personally I think a 17 pitch is what you want. I know your boating at least 4000-6000 ft altitude and are losing power due to altitude. Me too. Make sure you have the right jets in the motor and you will be a lot happier.

Heck if your not over reving a 15 would be better for hole shot/ski but not fast top speed.

Re: Pitch/Prop size?

I have the same motor an an 18.5' bayliner capri. The "stock" prop is an 15 spline, 13 1/4" diameter, non-thru the hub exhaust, 17 pitch 3 blade.

I have a new prop on order, should have it tomorrow and I ordered the same.

15 pitch will give you better pull from a standing start, 19 pitch will give you higher top speed but in the end Realgun gave you the best advice based on RPM.

Jeff
