More RPM? Yes. Slower top speed? Maybe, maybe not. It's unlikely to get faster, but it might not slow down much either.

Be sure the motor is at the right height. The antivent plate(just above the prop) even with or slightly above the bottom.Throttle opening all the way, move some weight forward.Adjust trim carefully.
Dissregarding slip it does appear that you may lose about 2 mph But that may vary as the prop is closer to its ideal rpm range
thus possibly developing more lift and less slip.

i agree with steelspike if the motor is too low it'll take forever to jump on plane but other info...

if you need more bow lift or less rpm increase you can look for a prop which is cupped.
example i went from 19 pitch to a 17 pitch i increases 400 rpm and lost 2mph wot. i then tried a 17 pitch with cupped blades, my comparison to the 19 pitch is 150rpm increase and maybe 1mph loss at wot. but i still pop on plane much much faster than the 19 pitch.

hope it helps.... when it comes to props you have many, many choices!

cheers
