I have a1971 Evinrude 60 outboard that I just picked up for a Glastron. The glastron has a rotary steering system I’ve learned. My question is, is there a kit to use the through tube steering or is it possible to replace the pivot bolt with a pivot tube? This is my first boat so I’m learning. Thanks!

There is a kit to adapt that motor to cable steering. It consists of a splashwell mounted "ball joint" on a stand and clamp for the steering cable. The steering cable clamps to the splashwell mount and connects to the motor.

Take a look on the steering system manufacturer's web site to see what is available. These are not as common as they once were, but should still be available.

That is a version of what you need. That looks to bolt thru the transom, which could work. You will need to figure that out.

There are others that have more height to them, that mount in the bottom of the splashwell. Those might work as well or better.
