Trying to remove the pivot pins on my transom. Service manual calls for a tool called a HEW Wrench

Is this a misprint as its maybe calling for a HEX Wrench? It looks like a big alan key would turn it.

But before I attempt tracking down a large alan key, or a completely different tool I figured I would check with the experts!

so experts, what do you guys think?

Thanks!

1/2" hex head allen wrench, I had to put a 4' pipe on mine to break them loose.

Go to any auto parts store or norther tool and get a 1/2 allen wrench. I cut mine in half and put it in a 1/2" socket, then used a breaker bar to pull mine out.

What they said. I ended up using a file and my dremel to modify a 1/2" drive extension to fit mine.
