Might want to wait till you get the manual before going after it with a hammer. That is what the manual is for.

No not as yet, looking at it one end is longer than the other both with nuts, longer end nut exposed other end nut is housed in transom bracket. It looks to me you undo nut that you can get too, which i would have to cut off as last person botched thread up.Do you know if this pin is made to screw out or tap out and is it safe to apply heat to alloy.

it is safe to heat your alloy, make sure that there is nothing flamable near by (fuel lines etc...) and don't use oxy, propane should be enough. Not sure with yours how the rod is held in. Is the new manual coming the factory one?

Up date its out.
This is what we did, Heated up housing and pin,
tried hammer with no luck.Soaked parts well, used hacksaw blade between transon bracket and motor bracket cut thur piviot pin.Tilted motor back and soaked pin again, made up long rod to use as punch and knocked the pieces out. There was no way that i would have got this pin out in
compete section with out breaking alloy fittings.
Good news shaft took most of the wear but will put new bushes in anyway. What i learnt from this is you cant over grease enough' Just wish last owner did it more. :D

Thanks for the input lark
This motor i brought of ebay ready to bolt on,
yeh right. Had to rebuild tilt that was working
fine .. after new shaft and seals, plus made own control box for tilt now works. Come with tacho guess what did not work, bad rectifier. Then we tackled the piviot pin. cost in parts as been
4-5 hundred just as well i could do the labour.
Sick of these people that bull on ebay boy is this guy going to get a serve on feedback.
Was not happy as i took a perfect motor off 80 hp
i have had for 14 years and all i wanted was more speed. But this motor does run well so we will go on.
Thanks again for your help.
