pivot pins 290 dp VOLVO

They have no slot, neither do they have an internal thread to attach the Volvo special tool to, and they seem pretty solid,
any ideas on how to get them out ? if i turn the steering can I drive them in instead of pulling them out?

turn the helm so they clear the helmet and drive them in taking care not to mushroom the ends.
