Hi,

I as this question will show, a first time boat owner and sometimes not afraid to show my ignorance so here goes.

I seemed to have picked up a term from who knows where and whated to see if anyone else has heard of it.

Has anyone else heard of getting on "Step" being used rather than getting on "Plane"?

The posts I have read here so far use getting on Plane.

Ignorance IS Bliss.

Thanks
Doc

If your hull has a step, Docwater, as most hydroplanes do, then getting on step is a correct term. Few recreational boats have a stepped hull, so getting on plane is the correct term for them.

Not a lot of people know that. Now you are one of them.

Red sky at night. . .
JB :)

I didn't know that iether. I allways thought they were the same thing. I learn something new every day on this board. My Bliner has a sticker on it that reads "Sequencial Lift Hull"....Hmmm. That must mean I get on sequence? :)
