Re: planing intermitant

Hi ya' benthooks...welcme aboard iboats.

Here's some things to look at.

Take the cowl off and remove the carb cover so ya' can see what's going on.

While squeezing the primer bulb, look real close at all the carbs for escaping fuel, especially around the float bowl gaskets. These plastic float bowls have a common tendency to warp and leak.

Notice if any full is coming from any of the carb throats which would indicate a stuck float which is flooding the engine.

The hose ya' found, find the primer solenoid. It'll have a red lever on it. Turn the red lever counter clockwise as far as it'll go. Don't force it beyound. Pump the primer bulb and see if fuel comes out the lose hose. If it does, it's a primer hose and as come off one of the carbs.

If not, it's probably a recirc hose. Look real close around the area you found the hose for a small nipple that it would fit on to.

Check all fuel lines are tight and don't have any busted clamps at the connections.

Keep us posted to your progress...thanks.

Re: planing intermitant

obj
checked everything u said to checked not leaking in carb throats no visable leaks or connections ,changed primer ball and fuel filter. The hose that i cant find where it goes is a recir hose still cant locate i was wondering if a carb cleaner spray would help new primer ball still doesnt get real firm, had a fellow in my doc k said he had gotten a bad batch of gas at my marina he said he changed plugs and ran rest of gas out of tank,i dont really think that could be the case ,also pulled a plug looked fine I m tihnking about getting a mechanic to look at it running out of solutions .Im going to call jersey cape marine in cape may could u tell me if they are reliable,or can you recommend someone really sorry about putting this post in a new thread appreciate your help thanks
