What would you say is the best month to fish and do a little diving in the Keys. I would prefer it be the first quarter if there is any hot fishing then. Thanks
Mini-season is the last Weds/Thurs of July, regular season starts Aug 6th this year. The water clarity is better during the summer but by late summer fishing dies off and is dead by Oct. I just got back from Big Pine, water was gin clear, bugs everywhere, will go back in August.
Just remember that when you do come down, IT'S REALLY HOT after APRIL and gets HOTTER & HOTTER every month until NOVEMBER. Let them tell you OH, It's just warm. B/S it's down right hot I Live here and have to find something to do between the hours of 11:30 AND 5:30 SO I DON'T FRY. OH yea don't forget to drink 2 to 3 gal. of water a day. SO you don't collacps. BUT ON THE BRIGHT SIDE I LOVE IT AND SPEND AS MUCH TIME ON THE WATER AS POSSIBLE>>>>>>
Anyday of fishing is better than a day of no fishing. Which island are you going to? The highest temp ever recorded in Key West was in 1957 at 94 degrees. Have fun, bring sunscreen and bug spray.
