Plans for a boat stand??

Any such thing as plans for a boat stand? I been doing some searching on the forums for a boat stand (Did find one grainy pic). My boat would fit in the garage, but the trailer will not. I'd love to have it in the garage this winter to do some work on it. How tough would it be to build something? The boat is a 20' Cheetah (V-hull), the trailer is a bunk trailer and about 2 foot to long for the garage.

Any suggestions?

Did us see this thread? Take a look at post #14, wouldn't really even need plans for that . . .

Those may work. Guess I need to measure once I pull the boat out of the water for winter.. The pic in #23 looks like a real good idea. Might keep checking ebay also.

Thanks,

Ron

ps. Here's a pic from being parked in the neighbor's yard..

I know this is not what your looking for but I cannot find the other one I was looking for....

The one I am looking for lifts from the bow eye like a hoist and the trailer can be pulled out from underneath it. Cannot remember what it is called!

How about converting your trailer to have a swing away or removable tongue. You may be able to fit the whole thing in your garage without the hassles of moving the boat from the trailer to the stand.

We need to see the front of your trailer and the back of your boat. There are a few different ways to loose some length. Removable/swing trailer tongue, pull off outdrive and/or swim platform and/or outboard. Position boat further up on trailer and eliminate rear overhang. Or my favorite; cut a notch in the garage door for the tongue. LOL

You may want to reconsider the fold-away trailer tongue. I have one on my 20 foot Tahoe and it fits in the garage - with about 6-10 inches to spare.

Do some careful measuring and drop your outdrive as much as you can...

Just and idea...

Just wondering how you plan to get the boat from the trailer to a stand? Your boat looks like it weighs a bit.

if he takes the outdrive off and swim platform and carefully backs in i dont see why not.. that outdrive looks like it sticks out a 2-3 feet.... the swim platform looks to be screwed or bolted in. .

That's another issue. I was figuring jacking it up a little and sliding it onto a stand. I looked at a one piece stand but it looks like I would need 2 small stands to make this work.. If not guess it's time to use my Jeep with the 9000lb. winch :D .
