This boat had been in storage for 10yrs. One of you guys told me the plastic gear could go out since it had set up so long. I did see the option for the electric oil pump system. I may go that way. But, Can I just pre mix? At least temporarily? Will the motor run at WOT if the oil sensor unit doesnt know what to do? What about the beeper. Can I disconnect it from the oil system only and still keep it hooked up for the overheat?
I going back out there now to run a compression check.
Thanks for any help.

Setting up for a long time is certainly a reason to be wary but if the engine turns over by hand and if you remove the oil pump and can see the pump shaft turning (while turning by hand) then the gear is probably o.k.

If the gear is wiped out, it is plastic and the junk will go out through #2 piston but whether or not it causes damage is a matter of luck. If it completely destroys itself from being out of balance there is some metal in it that would cause damage. #2 cylinder has enough extra space in it as is and will become even more lazy and prone to fouling.

If the shaft is not turning, the proper way to approach this is to pull the powerhead, split the case, remove the old gear, inspect the bushing in #2 rod slot area, replace the gear, put it back together and continue to use the very reliable automatic oiler.

I used to be in the habit of telling folks to remove the oiler. I've since realized that it is a very reliable system when the alarms are in good working order and its tested on a regular basis.

Thanks SSHEFER, I appreciate the info. I could see the lastic gears al tore up down in the shaft.
Turns out I dont have any compression on #6. Not even a little bit. All other cylinders are 120psi. Guess I am going to be pulling a power head.
