well, i want to customize my bimini top by installing plastic sheeting on the side opening of the top, that i can roll down and snap into place if it rains. can someone point me in direction of where to find something like this? definately want it to be transparent, and thin enough to roll, up and down but thick enough to not tear in the wind, 8 mil??? thanx if you have any ideas.

welp never mind. haha. think i found something. how bout a transparent shower liner from walmart, cut to size? im goin to go with that i think, unless someone else has a better idea.

that would have been the most common suggestion, so I'd run with it. It's been done here already.

If you have issues with that tearing, a upholstery shop should have the heavy duty clear plastic used for the rear windows on convertibles and softtop jeeps.

Does JoAnn Fabrics carry that clear plastic that my old Italian relatives used to cover all the livingroom furniture with :D I would check.

Funny. Yea i actually checked their website didn see anything. I searched for a similar topic, didn find anything, if someone comes across the thread where its been done i would appreciate a link. Thanx for suggestions guys

Walmart actually carries plastic sheeting in various thicknesses in their fabric department.

If you want something that will last a few days, head to Wal-Mart. If you want something that lasts a few seasons or more, look to strataglass or isenglass. Search eBay for remnants in sizes that will work for you.
