Do the black plastic washers on the 2 screws that hold the plate to the housing have any purpose apart from helping to locate the cap? Do they serve any purpose as insulators?
Mine are broken and I re-assembled it without them but I have yet to put the distributor back in the boat and could likely find or make something that would replace them if they are necessary.
Does anyone know what the purpose is?
