Hi everyone,
As you may or may not know, I'm in the process of rebulding my boat. Well I've been looking for alternatives for wood and came across this site http://epsplasticlumber.com/lumberpricing.shtml Has anyone tried this?
I bought a 4X8 (3/4") Coosa Composite board for my transom but that stuff is way too expensive for the deck and stringers. I thought "plastic" would be the best way to go.
I'm using epoxy and biaxial cloth to to the boat. I have figured that the epoxy won't bond to the Plastic well but when I removed the old stringers it left a good 1" lip so that the new board can slide into. So what I am going to do is place the plastic stringers in that groove and cover the top and around with biaxial and epoxy so that it is structurally sound. They also sell plastic plywood sheets, I was thinking of using 1/2".
Any comments...
Thanks,
Andy
