Play in steering then found this..

Standing behind the boat I can move the drive left and right a couple inches…checked the final housing etc and all looks good, then found this play in the linkage. Question is, what are these two parts called and which one looks to be bad…not sure how it’s assembled, still trying to find a diagram but figured one of you guys have dealt with this before, any ideas? ..(video attached.) BTW, 16’ Sea Ray with 3.0 and Alpha one gen 1

pretty sure that is supposed to move. looks like the pilot section of the steering actuator

What was it like when you had it on the water?
I have outboards but they seem loose ( too easy to flop around) when on land but in the water they are good.

That’s normal, it has to move for the power steering. Have you checked the steering pin for play at the top of the gimble housing?
or are you getting the normal bow wander at slow speed?
