An honest man was being tailgated by a stressed-out woman on a busy boulevard.
Suddenly, just in front of him the light turned yellow. He did the right thing, stopping at the crosswalk, even though he could have beaten the red light by accelerating through the intersection.

The tailgating woman hit the roof-and the horn-screaming in frustration as she missed her chance to get through the intersection. As she was still in mid-rant, she heard a tap on her window and looked up into the face of a very serious police officer.

The officer ordered her to exit her car with her hands up.

He took her to the police station where she was searched, finger printed, photographed and placed in a holding cell. After a couple of hours, a policeman approached the cell and opened the door.

She was escorted back to the booking desk where the arresting officer was waiting with her personal effects.

He said, "I'm very sorry for this mistak e. You see, I pulled up behind your car while you were blowing your horn, flipping off the guy in front of you, and cussing a blue streak at him.

I noticed the 'Choose Life' license plate holder, the 'What Would Jesus Do' bumper sticker, the 'Follow Me to Sunday School' bumper sticker, and the chrome-plated Christian fish emblem on the trunk. Naturally, I assumed you had stolen the car

That's funny, Muttley 8)8)

But I thought this was a serious thread.

Three of the four two-vehicle accidents I have ever been in I was rear-ended when I stopped for an amber light. Cost the other guys a ton.

It is in a way a serious, Please folow the Law in your state! I hate driving at night , on a lonely highway out here, not a car in site for miles, and some fool city slicker runs up on my bumper, Then decides he likes my company so he stays there blinding me. The old sudden application of brakes usually cures this. The law here as I remember it is a car length for every ten mph. so at 70mph, "get off my donkey", Or if you lack the intestinal fortitude to pass, Dont run up my donkey in the first place.

An easier rule, and one that defensive driving used some years ago, was 2 seconds between you and car in front.

Hey Pooch! I have mainly had manual transmissions most of my life, (including my current SUV), which is why I was able to buy it sooooo cheap a few years back, (everybody seems to like autos 'round here these days). That said, when I'm in the ol' pick - up truck, which has a step bumper that is sturdy, it sometimes gets 'em to downshift. If they don't hit ya it gets their attention real good. 'course ya have ta pick yer battles. Sometimes Paul Bunyan is behind the wheel, n' if the ol' shotgun isn't in the rack, n' his fuel dragster is faster then the ol' truck ya could have a real fight on yer hands with this trick. 8):$8) JR

My pet hate when driving. I have been known to pull over and let an idiot pass me but more often than not I will test thier reaction time with a short swift application of my brakes, my other trick is just to slow them down, this one works particualy well when there is a speed camara a little further up the road, if you time your pullover just right the driver is to busy flipping you off in the rear view to see the camara ahead. 3 penalty points, a £60.00 fine and the guy in the van behind laughing his head off sure is enough to pi$$ most people off.
