Please answer about folding hardtop

I have a hardtop that I traded my softtop for, it is 12 foot long and I am putting it on a 21 foot pontoon.
My question is does the hardtop fold down toward the rear or the front of my pontoon?

That really depends on which way you put it on, it could do either.

So decide which way you want it too go and make it work that way.

I would do a couple test fits so you don't get it on only to find it doesn't clear something.

Thanks 5150, what you said makes sense. Since the hard top I traded for did not come with my pontoon I had to have the 4 channel brackets that mount on top of the fence rail made. So I think I can make it fold either way, foward or to the rear. I think I will install it so that it folds to the rear and have it so it does not extend beyond the top of the motor. The only reason I was asking was since this is my first pontoon was to see if it would be easier to fold to the rear or to the front, I think it would be easier to fold to the rear.

I guess the bigger question would be, where do you want the shade when it's up?

We used to have one on our Sylvan and it folded to the front.
