OK I have scowered all the previous posts and cannot find the answer to my question so here is whats happening with my new fuel gauge and my thoughts on why it is maybe happening.
I just installed all new iEquus gauges on my 1974 Seaswirl GM 2.5 powered boat. All of the gauges are working except for the fuel gauge. Turn on the key and the gauge pegs past the full mark. I also have a new sender in tank which has the following ohm specs
Empty = 227-257 ohms
Full = 22-49 ohms
This is a Veethree sending unit (see diagram) No your eyes are not going bad. The picture is blurry.
Now the gauge is a GM gauge that has the following ohm specs
Empty = 0 ohms
Full = 90 ohms
I have the sending unit wired per diagram.
I have the fuel gauge wired per its instructions...
So can the difference in the sending units ohm requirement and the gauges ohm requirement be causing the pegged needel on the gauge as I suspect?
Thanks in advance for your input
