Was thinking after i posted. You have a remote oil filter?
It would be mounted on the opposite side of the fuel filter? If not a regular oil filter wrench should fit. Mine is a remote
As for any tips. Can't help you there. It's a learning curve for sure with i/o's

Ok THX again...... I'm getting older, and climbing into those tight spaces is harder. when I changed plugs I broke a few ribs. I slipped and BAM!

Before trying to get the old filter off, Take your new GM V6 oil filter and make sure the wrench fits around the filter correctly when it collapses/grabs the filter. A GM V8 filter is thicker than a V6 filter and you need a different size filter wrench for the two engine models. Of course that depends on the style filter wrench you have as they have many styles nowadays. http://www.bing.com/images/search?q...m v6 oil filter wrench sizes&sc=0-0&sp=-1&sk=

Good luck.:)

I suggest you buy a new replacement oil filter and then buy the appropriate wrench at the same time that fits the replacement filter. I have a few different oil filter wrenches and can tell you the only one that fits my filter is a special sized wrench. None of the usual strap type wrenches will collapse far enough to grab the filter. So I bought one specifically for that filter. It uses a 3/8" drive racket to remove the filter. But don't install the new oil filter with a wrench. Only hand tighten... JMHO!
