Please help? 1980 70hp Evinrude Two wires off under console

Just bought this boat and I have two wires off under steering console dont know what they are or where they go.
They are together (like a household extension cord) and are solid GREY on one and other is solid BLACK.
Can some one please tell me where they go?

Power trim and tilt work fine.

There is also a black wire coming out of power trim and tilt group not connected. Should I run this to battery ground

Any help would be appreciated.

Being together like that, (as a household extension cord) and not a portion of wiring leading from the actual engine/instrument wiring harness, I'd strongly suggest that you do not attempt to connect that wiring to anything. To do so could be a very expensive mistake.

Check with the previous owner, and if that inquiry reveals nothing... investigae to see what the other end of those wires are attached to, then get back to us with that info.

Do you have a trim gauge? I have seen trim gauges use similar wire, what appears to be regular lamp cord wire.

Do you have a trim gauge? I have seen trim gauges use similar wire, what appears to be regular lamp cord wire.

The obvious question is -- "what doesn't work?" If the prior owner removed something, that's probably what the wires are for. Just so you know, this has nothing to do with the engine so it should have been posted in the "Electrical & Trolling Motor" forum (which you did) but that also means you posted the same problem in a couple of places which is also a no-no.
