Hi,

I have a 26' Bayrunner that has a few small holes right on the V of the hull. The biggest one is about a quarter of an inch and I can't figure out how to repair them. I tried a product I found on the internet called HTS 2000 that looked very promising. Unfortunately, I guess you need a lot of practice to make it work and I failed. I have gone to a couple of places that weld aluminum but they said that they can't do it due to the location. What can I do? I'm thinking of some sort of 2 part epoxy. What do you guys recommend? See the attached picture.

I've had good luck with JB Waterweld. I have 3 aluminum boats and I've used it on all of them.

I'd maybe rivet a patch over the whole mess. 5200 or Gluvit the heck out of the patch.

The picture is not telling the whole story to me. Can you take a few more from inside and out so I can get a better idea of what's goin on. From what I see it looks like a simple TIG weld job. You might be able to MIG it with a spool gun but you'd have to weld run-off/on plates on it or it would crater crack on you.

You're in L.A. The best shop on the West Coast is Phil Taylor's Jet Stream Concepts in Yuba City. His prices are very reasonable and it would be worth it to haul it up there and get it fixed. That's a sweet boat!
