It's an old 20 HP Mercury outboard. S/N # 2888354. There was another number that was hard to read, it might be the model # 54935 or last # 6.I could not find out the year.
The # on the carburetor is KA25A. I took the steps to try to get it running but it seems as though I'm am not getting gas to the cylinders. I cleaned the carb and it has 2 needles. One is the idle and I backed this one out 3/4 of a turn. The other one is a needle without a spring and i seated this one in all the way. ( On the second one it said for the optional high speed needle to back it out 3/4 of a turn and I don't have that optional needle so I seated the one that was in there). Should I have backed that one out as well?
I have 90 lbs compression in both cylinders and spark to both. After trying to start I pulled a plug and could not smell any gas on it.
Please help with any advice.
