It has the color scheme from a 1993 motor or within a year either way.

The weird thing is when I tried to look up the serial numbers it showed it to be a 25 horse. That's definitely not a 25 horsepower...
0d264773 serial numbers

Maybe Gerry, can you help again?

Re: Please help me identify this Mercury...

It's oil injected with a separate holding area for oil I assume. Therefore, what's the BEST oil to use for this? Can anyone provide a link? I will buy the exact recommendation. Someone mentioned in another thread oil specific to oil injected boats. Also, 2 or 4 stroke. What's this motor??

I guess what I'd wonder is, it doesn't have to be the best oil. But what type of oil in general for oil injected? Does it matter if it's 2 or 4 stroke? Whatever this one is?

Your motor is a 2-stroke and requires 2-stroke oil. The Mercury "Quicksilver" branded oil might be considered "best" for your motor, but for everyone that recommends that, you'll get another that has their own preference/favorite. The key is that it be TCW3 rated...

Unless the s/n is wrong again, that s/n comes up at Mercury as:

MERCURY - ( 20 H.P. (1993 ))
Serial No: 0D264773 Model No: 1020201ND
