Please help me! Mastercraft 94 mari star

I have a Mastercraft 94 Mari Star 225 V-drive. As I go across the lake it starts out at 44 mph, after about a mile or so the rpm's drop and the speed drops to 35 and remains there until we stop. Does anyone have any ideas on whats going on?

This should have the Indmar RTP-1 Mpi engine. Do you have the digital throttle or a perfect pass?Do the rpms drop also with speed? When was the last time fuel filters where changed. Are you getting any alarms?

I don't no when the last time the fuel filters were changed. I have only had the boat two years, and I haven't changed them. How many are there, and where are they? Can I get them at any parts store, or are they special ones for boats? I don't have cruise or perfect pass, I would like to, but I don't want to spend that much money (any ideas).Thanks for your help.

Call your Mastercraft dealer parts dept and have model and serial # of boat and any infromation off engine valve covers. They can then supply you with correct filters and request a engine manual as well. This will cover oil changes,fuel filters, engine spec's, transmission service, stuff you need to know!! Some of these engines came with a digital throttle and will cause a sysmptom as you describe as the servo slowly backs off (Mastercraft Item)

He only has it 2 years and don't know. Hah.

Don't drive it anymore till you have it serviced. There is alot to be done to it, oil change,and such, will cost a bit if a dealer does it but your better off, then it will be ok.
