Ok. I had the Boat ready after hundreds of dollars. Sometimes it will crank over, sometimes it won't. When it doesn't, it'll make some clicking sound in the control box. I'm thinking it's the neutral switch.. Brand new starter, all wiring re-done by a mercury boat place. It's gotta be the safety switch!! Any ideas on how I can bypass it? I know it has a pink wire, and a white wire coming from the switch. Please help, I was so close to having it ready!! :(

If you haven't already done it clean and tighten your battery cables on both the battery side and on the starter and ground. Are you sure the click is coming from the control box and not the engine starter solenoid?

I looked futhur into it and found out it's my warning buzzer in the control box. Sometimes it will crank over, but most of the time it trys to buzz. Why would it do that? When I push in on the buzzer with a screwdriver it'll buzz loud...

I just want to get this thing fixed asap. I called the merc dealer and he said when the key was in the on position the buzzer was supposed to buzz for a second. I guess the older models did that, idk. but he said that the temp alarm in the control box will not affect whether itll start or not. So idk

You have an oil alert module on that engine that will buss a few beeps on key on. If your battery or connections are bad and the voltage then takes a dive, it will tend to lose it's mind. That's normal, the voltage isn't supposed to do that.

Replace the bad battery, or clean up your connections, or both, and it will be fine.

hope it helps

Clicks are useually bad connections or low voltage. Get a load tester and check your battery and clean all your connections
