Please help me with motor information

I purchased a Bombard Typhoon 10' inflatable yesterday. I am looking at a 6HP Tohatsu 4 stroke motor. There are 2 passengers with a combined weight of 325lbs and 20lbs of gear. What type of speed can I expect and will the boat plane? Thanks in advance for all your help.

With one person, it should plane with a top speed of about 15 to 18 mph. I doubt it will plane with 2 people on board. Maybe just barely, but it'll take everything that 6 hp motor has got. I'd go with a 9.9 hp.

About 12 mph and it should get up on plane...With the correct prop.

Yep. It's actually easier to get on plane with two people than it is one. That's because you stick the person with the bigger butt up front to help the boat get up
