Last year I purchased a 2003 Suzuki 150hp 2 cycle, model: DT150TCXK3, and while getting it ready this year I did a very stupid thing. I drilled a hole through the PTT manifold and ended up bisecting the oil line in the Power Trim/Tilt housing. I never would have thought there would be a line molded into the aluminum housing.

It all started out when I mounted this motor on a '89 Sea Ray Laguna center console and there was a through-hull drain that was covered by the motor.(by the way, I had a dealer install this motor and never did they tell me about this problem or that you can buy an extension mount to brace away from the transom, so this drain is not blocked)

This is where I got the bright idea to "just drill out the hole, it's only aluminum"

Well, after noticing oil on the driveway, I took it to my local Suzuki dealer and was told it would be $3k to fix!!!! (OH God, I only paid $8k new for it last year)

The dealer said they would have to replace the whole unit with factory new.($2100 + labor & tx). They said you can not buy just the housing, Suzuki only sells the whole assembly. I had my dad (retired engineer) look at it with the dealers mechanic and they figured we could just TIG weld a patch or plug to cover the hole on both sides and it would be cheaper then buying new. Once sealed, the oil will fill the void and pressurize. All should be good.

Unfortunately, the manager at the dealership would approve the welding in house nor would they send it out to be done, only replace with new or if I can find a Suzuki manifold PTT housing that will fit a 2003, they will swap it out.

I have been look high and low on the net and ebay, with no luck.

I don't need the engine or lower unit, just the power PTT manifold housing. If anyone knows of one for sale (part or parts motor) or even a good place to start looking, I would be most grateful.

I would think that after 3 years, there would be a least 1 pieces/parts motor out there in the world.

God bless you, if you can find pity in your heart to help a "Stupid" novice fix his error.

-Paul a.k.a "Mr drill happy"
