my friend has a carapelle with a omc 185 with model numbers 990253S1 and 982435 i was wondering about the year and if i could find a pdf owners manual or something slimier.

A quick Google search of 990253S1 says it's a 1979 Cobra sterndrive. You should be able to find manuals for that on iBoats, Amazon and/or ebay.
