maybe.... but...
Manual 11 covers Bravo drives and the years it covers are from 1988 to 1998.. so...

We either need pics of the drive or some #'s. Is the drive and engine original to the boat?

Mark,

When you finally figure out what specific equipment you're working with, I would HIGHLY recommend that you find as many of your parts through the various online retailers. I have saved a TON of $ by avoiding the local Merc. dealers!

Note: I'm not saying that you shouldn't by OEM (Quicksilver) parts, just that there are some serious deals to be had when you envoke some patience and shop around.

That said, here's a fairly comprehensive diagram site that should detail just about everything mechanical you can buy for your money pit, uh, I mean, project boat!

http://www.vanssports.com/pages/OemParts?aribrand=MRC

Select "Mercruiser" from the drop-down list once you identify your outdrive model and serial number. If it's truly an '86, I'd guess it to be an Alpha One, but you'll definitely need to confirm it. If that's what it winds up being, look for the "R/MR/ALPHA One" listings under "Mercruiser" (way down the list).

;)
