HI , I AM OPEN TO ANY SUGGESTIONS ON HOW TO MAKE MY TROLLING MOTOR MORE STURDIER , I CURRENTLY HAVE IT ON FRONT AND LIKE TO KEEP IT THERE IF I CAN . AS U SEE IN PICTURE THE BOATS PLATFORM IS NOT WIDE ENOUGH TO SIT THE WHOLE TROLLING MOTOR BOTTOM BOLT DOWN BRACKET.

I would deffinitely shore up that base before you tear up your fiberglass. I would suggest some type of sleeve or blocking with bolts running thru the base of the motor into the rim of the boat. You will probably have to fabricate something. Being a carpenter I would probably use a section of trex or other composite deck material, drill two holes thru the motor base and thru the block. Then sand or grind thebottom edge to mate with the curve of the boat. Not sure what you have under the fiberlass to bolt to, or if you can access underneath the rim to install a nut and washer. It is an idea anyways.....

Remove your bow light first then figure on mounting the trolling motor. You can always mount 2 side lights later.:)

Also please turn off your caps lock:p, it makes it easier to read.:)

You may want to try the Minn Kota mounting base. You can remove your motor with the pull of a pin but it also provides additional support for the trolling motor.

Have you had any problems with autopilot feature like the spins? Your problem is simple the motor will need more area to mount on. I didnt really look at yours but mine have quick realease plate which mounts it up more. You could relocate the center lights easy maybe an extention up or to the side maybe attach to plastic motor? Update get the quick release mount makes mounting easier and straight forward for fiberglass.

Re: Please Help With My Trolling Motor Project

thank you guys for all the suggestions. i will definately post a picture soon after figuring and installing the trolling motor more securely. autopilot works great on this motor, just has a little vibration at the very front , so i definately got to do something about it.
