please help

i "had" a 9.5 hp 1968 Evinrude Sportwin stolen off my boat sometime last night.
I've only had this beauty for a couple of months, bought her with a bill of sale only and never bothered to write down the serial # or model #.
I know its a 68 cause I initially looked it up and found her to be the same age as me.

I was hoping someone could help me get the correct model # for the police report. Possible matches 10822 , 9822, 9823..

does anyone know the difference from these models?

She was kinda ugly but had a good heart and was very reliable

9822 is a 68 short shaft.9823 is a long shaft very noticeable about 20 inches
from where it rests on transom to the antivent plate.just above the prop.
