I was out on my 1995 Tracker Marine Nitro 170 (I have only been on it a few times since I bought it) And Every time i gave it throttle today a loud beeping went off and I have NOOOOOO idea where from or what caused it! At first I thought it was my Depth finder but I took it off and it was not it. I searched high and low for where the beeping was coming from and I am really stumped! Like i said it is fine when in idle but its when i use the throttle. Any idea's please!! thanx!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh and one more question My motor sez "Oil Injected" so its a 2 stoke engine correct?

Re: Please Help!!!

Sound is likely your engine alarm. I am assuming it is a Merc. Probably an over rev alarm. It can sound for a few reasons, over rev, over heat, etc. I'd have it checked. If it is a '95 and oil injected, then it's a 2 stroke. Others may chine in with ideas of disconnecting the oil injection system and manually mixing the gas. I'll leave it to those in the know to comment further on this.

Re: Please Help!!!

Have a look in the owner's manual for your engine. It would help if you posted what the engine is.

Re: Please Help!!!

well Its not an over rev because it starts doing it when not going very fast at all. and it is 1995 Mercury 75 horse Power oil injected motor. And i dont think it is over heating because the water seems to be pumping through my engine pretty well.

Re: Please Help!!!

Could be any number of things. Low oil, no oil, temp, or just a faulty horn. There are several ways to test the alarm.

Re: Please Help!!!

You may want to search the Mercury outboard forum rather than this thread. This is a non engine related thread. You will find a wealth of knowledge in the mercury engine topics area.
