I want to know year, length, and person capacity in people and weight.

My tag just seems wrong. I think it could hold a lot more then it claims.

I will start.

Re: Please put your Capri data tag info.

When boat manufacturers build a new model they go by a formula to ascertain the safe amount of horsepower and weight that that particular model will SAFELY handle. Now, you may be able to carry more bodies but you will be jeopardizing the handling and stability of the boat.
Another issue to keep in mind is if you are out with an overloaded boat the water cops will give you a nice big ticket. Then they will take off your excess passengers, put them on their boat, take them back to THEIR closest location and send you an additional bill for their time.
Please don't second guess the manufacturer. They know a lot more about the boats they build then either one of us.

absolutely agreed with^. I NEVER haul more people than the placard says, even if I have a few kids with me. I count them as 1 person in the head count, just as the CG or park rangers would. i also estimate the gear, and try to keep that weight down to a minimum.

I wasn't trying to push it right or wrong for a safty issue. I just wanted to be sure it is correct. I was wondering what others tags are to see if there is a relation to length vs number of people/weight.

Opossum,

Please don't feel that either one of us was making any assumptions. Just a fact finding mission - so to speak.
I'd pick up the phone and give Bayliner a call @ 360.435.8975
They used to have a toll free number but that went to hell with the economy I guess.
Have you HIN number with you as they will need it to reference your particular boat. Just ask them the same question you asked here - they sometimes do provide great customer service.
