Please Respond Fast! 1998 Yamaha 150 S150TXRV - Any Known Problems?

Hello all! I have just signed a contract contingent upon, among other things, a sea trial that will happen next week for a boat running a 2 stroke Yamaha 150 Salt Water series(S150TXRV). <br /><br />I did some searches but found very little information on this motor. I would like to find out where the "soft" areas of this motor are and what I need to look out for / what I can expect from this motor.<br /><br />The hour meter shows 250 hours and is described as "low hours". What kind of life can I expect from this engine?<br /><br />Secondarily, I am looking for specs on this engine such as RPMs, GPH figures, etc...<br /><br />Please reply and include links if you can!<br /><br />Thank you so much and sorry for the demand for "fast response" in my post's title!<br /><br />JA<br />SW Florida<br /><br /><br />

I havent heard of any major problems with<br />any of the Yam 150's<br /><br />Good luck!

The Yahama web site should give you the spec.'s on the engine. Otherwise do a search for "boat tests" on that engine.

Thanks for your responses.<br /><br />As I dig further into this "deal", I found that the engine is a 1997 not a 1998 like I originally understood.<br /><br />Thanks for any more info you have on this.<br /><br />JA
