Please share Pictures and Info on repairing Older Raycraft Boat?s floors and transoms. It's time to make some decisions on my 14?, 1969, Raycraft that I purchased in 1985 as my starter. It proved to be all I needed for my 5-8 short fishing trips yearly and will possibly finish my needs.
1. It?s still all I need but I have always noticed some water was getting under the Plugged closed floor.
2. Now I?m noticing a soft spot in the rear of the floor that I feel is not too dangerous at this point.
3. If the damage is not too extensive I?m willing to repair and possibly remove the floor?s plugged back.
4. Removing the floor's plugged back into the bilge area to allow better ventilation and better observation.
5. Otherwise, I would want another small fiberglass boat with the floor open to the back.
6. Then make my 1985 planned upgrade to Rack And Pinion Steering using my same 1970, 35 HP Chrysler and trailer (that appear to still be in good conditions due to maintaining and little use).
Thanks in advance, plus I have pictures (2 sets) related to this matter posted under wickware at the address below.
