Please tell me this is aluminum!

the lister 'knows nothing about boats'

but says this is a 1962 star cruiser

if this boat's not aluminum please save me the drive out there

either way it is in nice shape and the price is pretty low, but i'm not interested in fiberglass boats (and i'm assuming 0 value on the merc since i know next to nothing about them)

That's a glass boat. I could see how the white part could be confused for aluminum but the cap is definitely glass.
