Plexiglass 1-7/8 thick for transom ?

Hi all .We bought a 1977 glasstron that needs a new flor and transom . Iwas talking to my brother on the phone tonight we were talking about the wood for the transom . H

my experience with plexi is when flexed, it breaks. even that thick, it has no structural support.
