hey look, I get to be the first in the new forum (admin 5 doesn't count), anyhow.

When I got this lower unit, someone had "thank ***" already put a s/s skeg guard on it. This makes it longer than normal.

Got outta the boat after running it with the muffs on, sounded really good. Trimmed it down so I could more easily put the cowling on, the skeg had made an impression on the ground. Mom yelled at me to do something, so I went.

When I got done, I got in my truck, and plowed a furrow around my house!!!!

I got some forgotten drain plug one's for later, but I think I may be the only one to do it more than 5 times!!!!
:D :D :D

Re: Plow??????

I have two sons, Both grown and living in SC when they visit and want to use the boat a get a rash, Something happens everytime, first my oldest boy who never pulled a trailor went to park it after launching, short cut the parking space and tore off the left fender, Next they ran aground and put a small hole in the Bow, The last time they drove out of the yard with the motor down, I have a corn-row right down the middle of my asphalt driveway. My wife has told me that the boys new secret rule is if the old man ain't going we ain't asking "Thank God" Hope your crop does better than mine...

Re: Plow??????

I keep the motor down when the boat is parked, just so rainwater doesn't collect too much in the exhaust and so on.. I was mowing the yard one day and got to a point where I needed to back the boat up to mow, so I jumped in the truck, hooked it up and started back... About that time I remembered that the motor was down, and promptly stopped... There is a slight downhill run behind the boat, then bottoms out and begins to run back uphill.. I realized JUST in time that the motor was down, because the skeg was about 1/2" deep into the uphill run when I looked.. WHEW! I pulled forward a few inches, raised the motor, and continued... No harm done!
