As part of my restoration project on 77 70 hp Evinrude, I decided to go with OEM parts even if they were a little more expensive. Figured they had to have been good to have lasted over 30 plus years. Anyway, since almost all parts for ignition are still available I decided to just about start from new except for stator. New coil kits have loose wire while original I took off engine had a hard white sealant I can't id. I tried silicone gasket maker and didn't like the result. maybe somebody has a suggestion on product similar to original, or is it even required? Looks to me like they could pop out due to vibration of engine.

Thanks and safe boating ya'll

the pin is actually a very small sharp screw, twist it on, make sure to get the pin in the center of the wire.

Thanks for the info, I guess once screwed on they don't require the sealant like the old ones. That will make it a lot easier.
