points for 1969 55 horse

Hi all having trouble finding points for my 1969 Johnson 55 horse outboard
Model # 55ESL69A any help out there would be great. Thanks

I don't have a clue if they are available.Have you tried a well established E/J
dealer.You might try H Chalk and Son Fishers Landing NY they have a web site.These folks have been around over 50 years. I don't think they normally do mail order but I bet they have the points.And if they are available any well established dealer should be able to get them.

They are available at http://shop2.evinrude.com , but not cheap.
I had the same motor and changed the ponits in 1996...when it was almost 30 years old. Waste of time and money!
I had bought the points first....and they were not returnable.
The points that were in the motor were literally mint....still had a shiny mirror-finish on the contacts. They are not subject to the same wear as regular magneto ignition points.
Make sure you check first that there is a need to change them.
