Points for 71 Johnson, where to buy?

Model 60ESL71C

Was converted to battery ignition (don't know if that makes a difference or not)

Been to 8 different "Marine" service places, Also NAPA, AutoZone and Advance Auto. No place can locate the points that I have in their books.

Let me describe them.

They have a little gnarled wheel on the outer side of the contact. this wheel thing has a place for a Allen Hex Wrench in the center. When you turn the little wheel with the allen wrench it *Clicks* into place. you turn the wheel and it moves the contact (which is connected to the wheel) in or out depending on which way you turn the wrench...When I described these points to any of the places above they had no idea what I was talking about.

If anyone has a Seloc 1306 Manual, mine look like the picture on page 5-89 (the picture with the "6" on the upper left hand side of that page.

If anyone has a part number or where to order them I'd really appreaciate it.

Try going to www.ishopmarine.com They have engine diagrams, complete with part numbers and prices. Just enter the model number and you should get a list of the different motor groups. The points you are looking for will be in the "magneto" engine group. Hope this helps.

Just went there.."Out of Production" "Vintage Part"

But they did have the part #
OEM # 0383655

Anyone else have a place where I might buy?

Been to all the links mentioned above. Noone seems to have them. Got a few emails out to some of the places to see if they can special order them from somewhere but so far no responses.

Anyone else have some vintage parts links?

Sea-way emailed me back they have them...$100 for the set (2) new (ouch!)

$52 for a used set.

I'm thinking buy now..more than I need...these thing will be worth more than gold in a few years...wait..they already are! BUY NOW!
