points gap on merc 900

I was woundering if anyone knows what the points gap would be on a 1965 900 merc.We had it to the lake today and have no power past 1/4 throttle and it is rough.We checked the plugs and wires and all are fireing.It seems like the only other possibility.I tried to use the syncro plate once before but failed.Thanks..

The spec for these is "90 degree Dwell" using a degree plate from Mercury Part # 91-45510A1.
