I HAVE A 1968 LARSON WITH A CHEVROLET 4 CYLINDER 2.5L 153CID WHAT IS THE POINT SETTING GAP FOR DISTRIBUTOR, ALSO I AM HAVING TROUBLE WITH THE BOAT SLOWING DOWN AFTER 5 OR TEN MINUTES CRUISE FROM 4000 RPM TO BETWEEN 2500 AND 3000RPM, SPEED15TO 20MPH COULD THIS BE A COIL, OR FUEL SYSTEM PROBLEM. AFTER IT COOLS DOWN IT RUNS FINE AGAIN FOR A LITTLE WHILE THEN STARTS SLOWING DOWN AGAIN. THANKS FOR HELP...

Throw those point away and get yourself a Pertronix kit. You will never have to set points again and they only run around 60 bucks.

Thanks for the information, I will try the upgrade to Pertronix... and let you know it works.. also any other info about the slowing down issue would be appreciated..

geez- i just downloaded painfully, via dial up, the pdf that the pertronix site says will show me marine apps... nuthin but cars in it...sorry pertronix, I don't have the patience...

"nuthin but cars in it..." <br />Auto or marine there is no difference when it comes to these. If you cant wait for the file then give them a call you wont be sorry. Points are a thing of the past that never worked that great t begin with that is why everything is HEI today.
