I have a polaris sl780 and the exhaust hose is constantly having to be replaced(2 times/year).
I would like to know if i can replace it with an aluminum custom pipe or does it have to be rubber?

Re: polaris exhaust hose

you probably have a water supply issue to your exhaust system that is allowing the hose to overheat, or you have an obstruction in the water-box holding the exhaust back and overheating the hose, remove the water box , spray a ton of oven cleaner inside it, let it sit a while and rinse it out, do this a couple of times, and shake the water box to hear any broken baffels that may be causing an obstruction also check the water supply hoses and fittings especially any elbow fittings for sand etc that will hold back the water to the exhaust system, usually the exhaust system will seem a little loud if it isn't getting enough water.

Re: polaris exhaust hose

Most likely the water supply hose to the exhaust has a pebble or sand clogging it. Check all your hoses going to the exhaust pipe and stinger. Your exhaust is designed to have water running though the stinger. ( its called a wet exhaust) the water is what keeps the hose from overheating and breaking/splitting.
Could be a waterbox thats breaking up inside but usually the hose splitting is due to no water cooling it
