pole setting on tach

Have 88 yam 150 etxg,have manual but cant find anywhere in specs for tach pole setting ,sure could apprciate some input,tach is yamaha analog w/ oil warn lamps. thanks

Tach setting is 6P.

hello<br /> should be a 12 pole or 6 pulse. I will try to double check that but I think all yammi's of the V configuration were 12 pole design. if the tach has a 12 position try it. if your wrong the tach will either read x2 or 1/2. I will try to follow up tonight.<br /> good luck and keep posting

Agree with Trent, 12 pole alternator, so setting is 6.
