I just helped a friend remove the oxidation from his Cajun boat. We tried something different than I had used on my Ranger and I wanted to post.
Frist my Ranger is 20 years old and I used the Meguiars "one step compond" to remove the oxidation. However this requires a rotary buffer.
My friend brought his Cajun over..nice purple metal flake boat and we tried the #1 Polish from Griots Garage. The polishes from Griots are made for all random orbital polishers. I can't say it worked as well because I had to polish alittle longer...yet not that much. I would recommend this set up.
To remove heavy..I mean heavy oxidation I took the #1 polish..worked it in. Then did the same with #2 then #3. Also note to do this requires a good tool. Myself I have a Griots and others have the Porter Cable.
