In the wake of the U.S. House of Representatives passing a resolution that amounts to a vote of no confidence in the Bush administration's policies in Iraq, a new national survey by Alexandria, VA-based Public Opinion Strategies (POS) shows the American people may have some different ideas from their elected leaders on this issue.

The voters didn't say they wanted to pull out of Iraq, the MSM did. Just like they pick our candidates for us and tell us what the "issues" are every election year.

That's a big 10 - 4 Kalikid! That said, those who go with the flow, (many unfortunately) are influanced by MSM. JR

Gotcha! That happens ta me sometimes when I'm trying ta catch my spellin' errors

I didn't see anything wrong, or off topic about that.... fact it's spot on.

Nice to hear from the voters instead of hearing from MSM about what the voters think.

Does it really matter what the folks want? I think not! It's what the dems do NOT want to happen. When we do win, the dems will not know how to handle it. I like to believe the glass is half full.

When we win.... if allow too, the Democrats will be seen for what they are. That is why they are going all out to make us lose.... it's what they based their whole campaign on last election, and what they are basing their hopes on in the next.

Yep Crunch, they've commited themselves. There only hope is for us to lose in Iraq. If we win, the dems will be exposed for what they are, and relegated to the sidelines for quite some time!

Naaa... if you had gone off on Scooter, and how he lied to the Grand Jury about his dog barfing on the left side of the sidewalk on 5/07/2004.... when in reality the dog barfed on the right side, then we might have had issues. :p

Re: POLL: AMERICANS 'WANT TO WIN IN IRAQ'

Thanx Roger....

War On Terror: The party of John Murtha shamelessly seeks to defund and defeat U.S. troops on the battlefield and snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. The Congress the terrorists wanted is doing their bidding.

There's a reason the founders of this country designated a single commander in chief and placed the responsibility to wage war in the hands of the president. We saw recently the futility of having 100 commanders in chief when the Senate tried to pass a resolution of disapproval of the war in Iraq and couldn't agree on the terms of our surrender.

Now it's the House of Representatives' turn, led by Rep. John Murtha, who believes the fine young men and women we send to defeat terror and our sworn enemies are cold-blooded killers. While the House works on its own nonbinding resolution, Murtha has bigger plans and considers such a resolution only a prelude to the real battle in March over appropriations for the war.

As chairman of the House panel that oversees military spending, Murtha plans to advance legislation next month attaching strings to the additional war funds Bush requested on Feb. 5.

Murtha plans to stop the Iraq War by placing four conditions on combat funds through Sept. 30, the end of the fiscal year. The Pentagon would have to certify that troops being sent to Iraq are "fully combat ready" with training and equipment, troops must have at least one year at home between combat deployments, combat deployments cannot be longer than a year, and extending tours of duty would be prohibited.

"We're trying to force a redeployment not by taking money away, (but) by redirecting money," explained Murtha.

"We're trying to force a redeployment not by taking money away, (but) by redirecting money," explained Murtha

Any tool to force a loss, any tool to gain the White House in 2008.

And someone got on 12 for calling them by there rightful name..... TRAITORS!!!!

There is no way the perps in this Cluster Fuch don’t know what they are doing,. They were told by Lt. Gen. David H. Petraeus during his Conformation Hearing, when asked if a Congressional vote of no confidence would give aid and comfort to the enemy .... He answered yes. He was told not to get political!!!!!!

Whether the Dems meant to be TRAITORS, or if they are so out of touch with reality still remains to be seen, but a defense of “I didn’t mean to kill him when I shot him in the head” is fairly weak IMNSHO. :p

Sorry JB.... stupidity is no defense, and these Idiots are fairly smart. (If you get my meaning) They know what they are doing, and do it anyway.... That’s treason if it affects the US in a detrimental way.

That statement by Murtha is an interesting one.

Redeployment = Pullout - any questions??

Redirecting funds = pulling funds - any questions??

pulling funds = pullout - any questions??

This is HS algebra a=b, b=c, therefore a=c

Plausible deniability - that is the strategy.

Well, it clearly shows that you can get the answers you want if you phrase the questions in a certain manner.

But no matter, it does not really make a difference, as we are doing the "surge" no matter what polls might say.

I too want to prevail in Iraq, and maybe the threat of cutting off funding will give the Iraqis the push they need to get their stuff together and take control of their own country. Who knows? Ultimately, the outcome in Iraq will be determined by the Iraqis--Not the American military. Any tactic that pushes them is ok by me, whether a timetable, or forcing the military to properly equip and prepare the troops before sending them to war, or whatever it takes to get the Iraqis to take charge.

On the other hand....

I don't need for the USA to "win," I just need to know that somewhere someone is making decisions that strengthen our national security; and that the decisions are based on actual verifiable facts.

Whew, maybe it would be easier to win....

Yep, we have a serious and growing problem in Afghanistan and Pakistan with the Taliban and AlQaida, and they do pose a serious threat to us
