Under deck poly tank in an aluminium cuddy ( similar to SC )

Don't want this puppy rubbing on the metal so I am thinking of "bedding" it on some mud flaps off of a semi truck.

Any reason not to??

This kind of applies. I used a mudflap as a pad between my tool box top and bottom. It has been there for at least 15 years with no problems. I know it has had just about everything spilled on it with no issue. It does get black stuff on the metal though.

When you install a poly tank you must allow for 2-3% initial expantion,(about 1/2'' in all directions). I'm getting ready to install a poly tank in my 17' cuddy,FG. hull.
From my research I've found several people that used
1/2''neoprene rubber for bedding. Moeller has a poly tank insall kit that is suppossed to allow for exp. It is actually 4
ss. brackets but I don't know if they will work in your situation.
I'm still undecided but I can let you know how it turns out.
