after poly resin plywood I will be put down nautolex marine vynal on top , what prep do I have to do to the sealed plywood? there seems to be a waxy finish to the poly resin , I do not want the adhesive and vynal to slide around???
just the resin. the deck is going on top of aluminum stringers with flotation and screwed down from the top with ss screws. 89 sea nymph gls was built with no fiber in the wood floor,just coated ply and carpet.
The bad news is polyester resin alone won't do much of anything in protecting the plywood from water, you need to use a layer of glass with it or it will crack and flake off in a short period of time.
The good news is that being an aluminum boat the floor is very easy to replace in the future.
You can use a solvent or soap designed to strip wax and scrub the surface and the glue will stick well.
